Pigeon Poetry

During the day the students took part in a number of workshop activities which included making poetry biscuits, talking and coming up with short poems on the theme of pigeons in the form of a Cinquains. The pigeons was then observed both inside the loft and also flying around the school field, all students then came up with words and ideas for their poems from these observational. Once everyone returned to the classroom everyone made poems and they shared these with the class. Theses poems were then attached to the pigeons legs and the students let them go to allow there poems to fly with the pigeons in the sky.

All in all the day was a great way to get new and exiting ideas into the school and to allow the students and the pigeon project here at Kingsmead to participate n National Poetry Day.

Bellow are some of the poems that the students came up with throughout the day and there is a small video to show students partaking in some of the activities on offer.
